Support Groups

A variety of support groups are provided in the areas of heath, mental health, and substance abuse. Groups vary in membership size and length of time that they are offered – to confirm whether a group you are interested in is currently meeting, call before attending. Some groups require a screening process prior to admission.

 

  • Cardiovascular
  • Diabetes Support Group
  • Groupo Quitza. Facilitated in Spanish, this group provides education about HIV, medication options, complementry therapies, prevention, and offers peer support.

  • Lighthouse Project/Teens in Action (T.I.A.)
    The Lighthouse Project/T.I.A. is an intensive, coordinated social marketing campaign designed to promote safer sex practices among young men who have sex with men (MSM).   In addition to the various advertising and media events and activities, a key component of the project is the use of volunteer Housekeepers. Housekeepers serve as role models, as HIV educators to deliver prevention messages, and as recruiters to get others to become Housekeepers.
