Prevention Specialist. The Clinic is seeking applicants for a Prevention Specialist position.聽 The Prevention Specialist will provide HIV, substance abuse and violence prevention programs for youth at urban core middle and high schools.聽 Primary duties include providing an evidence-based group intervention, offering HIV counseling and testing, distributing safer sex education and risk reduction materials.聽 The person in this position will be part of the Clinic’s Prevention Team and may be asked to provide support to other team members and projects, including community outreach and events.聽 This position requires a flexible schedule including some evenings and weekend work.
**Full time position working 32 hours per week with benefits available**
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in education, public health, social work, psychology, sociology or related field preferred.
- Six months experience in education, healthcare or related field.
- HIV/AIDS prevention experience preferred.
- Experience working with urban core youth, in a school setting preferred.
- Must have good interpersonal skills with ability to relate to diverse groups of people
Abilities:
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Ability to interact with supervisors, employees, school personnel, parents, and the public to gain their cooperation and to establish working relationships.
- Ability to adhere to confidentiality guidelines.
- Apply problem solving skills to resolve issues or concerns regarding HIV/AIDS prevention education and health education services.
Dentist. The Clinic is looking for a full time Dentist to serve the uninsured and underinsured.聽 Oral health is a core service of the Clinic and is heavily integrated with all Clinic programs.聽 This position provides direct patient care, performing a range of professional dental tasks within a general dentistry practice that focuses on the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of diseases of the teeth and gums while meeting all standards of the American Dental Association.聽 This position will provide referrals and follow up care for specialized dental procedures as needed.聽 This position provides clinical supervision of ancillary dental personnel, volunteers and students and collaborates with academic dental institutions regarding the education of dental, dental hygiene and dental assisting students.聽 Collaboration with the Dental Coordinator regarding the delivery of dental services is another key function.聽 The Dentist will also collaborate with the Director of HIV Primary Care and Oral Health in the design, implementation and evaluation of the dental program including development of dental policies and procedures.聽
Minimum Requirements: Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Dentistry, licensed by the Missouri Dental Board
- Must have demonstrated knowledge and expertise in public health/community dental care
- Experience working with students and volunteers
- Must be detail oriented while able to focus on the big picture
- Must have good interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communication skills with the ability to relate to a diverse group of people on all levels
